Trade ties between Afghanistan and Kazakhstan grows

KABUL (SW): Bilateral trade between Afghanistan and Kazakhstan has jumped beyond $ 400 million per year, it was said on Saturday.

Speakers at the Afghanistan-Kazakhstan Business Forum in Kabul stressed upon the need to further boost trade ties.  

Khan Jan Alokozay, deputy president of the Afghanistan Chamber of Commerce and Industries (ACCI), said on the occasion more than 40 firms from Kazakhstan have invested over $ 30 million in Afghanistan. He noted impediments exist that are hindering growth in bilateral trade, but potential is there to further access Chinese and Russian markets via Kazakhstan.

Askar Arynov, managing director of the investment board in Kazakhstan, expressed interest in investing in Afghanistan. He mentioned 11 more firms from Kazakhstan have arrived to invest in Afghanistan’s food sector and industry. He vowed to provide enabling environment for the Afghan investors in Kazakhstan.

The Afghanistan Chamber of Commerce and Industries urged the governments of both the countries to facilitate traders and investors.
