JALALABAD (SW): The Afghan National Army (ANA) claimed to have killed 126 Daesh militants, including their top military commander Sa’ad Emirati in eastern Afghanistan.
The ANA’s 201-Selab Corps announced in a communiqué that the militants have been killed in the eastern Nangarhar province. It read that the Daesh fighters have been killed during an operation in Bandar and Banwaroch areas in the restive Apchin district.
This press release further read that the Daesh’s deputy commander together with his three fellows have been killed in the Kalae Sangi area in neighboring Kot district. The press release further said that as many as 22 Daesh fighters have been captured.
Speaking to Salam Watandar, Ataullah Khogyani, the spokesperson for the provincial governor said that Sa’ad Emirati was leading the fighting in Kot district.
The pro-Daesh rebels have not commented on the developments.
