KABUL (SW) – Analysts believe now is the right time to utilize the momentum against Pakistan in connection with the cross-border terrorism charges levelled by India and Iran.
Pakistan is facing serious accusations of providing sanctuary to terrorist outfits that target its neighbors. Last week, two deadly bombings rocked India and Iran, claiming close to 70 lives in total.
At least 27 members of the Iranian revolutionary corps (IRGC) and at least 44 members of India’s central reserve police force (CRPF) were killed in two different suicide attacks last week.
Muhibullah Sharif, an analyst on political affairs, told Salam Watandar a momentum is developing against Pakistan for supporting global terrorism. He warned if Afghanistan remained idle on the diplomatic front, Pakistan would eventually link the Afghan peace process with its dispute over Kashmir with India.
A day earlier, Zahid Nasrullah, Pakistan’s ambassador to Afghanistan, warned peace talks between the United States and Afghan Taliban militants would be affected if India resorted to violence against Pakistan in response to a deadly bombing in the Kashmir region.
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs in Kabul summoned Ambassador of Pakistan over these remarks on Wednesday.
Commenting on this, Intezar Khadem, an analyst on strategic affairs, said the international community, particularly the U.S is aware of the policies peddled by Pakistan in regard to causing troubles in the India and Iran. He said the Indian diplomacy has come into action against Pakistan.
He said Afghanistan should coordinate its diplomatic maneuvers with India, and if the U.S is alon on board, this would leave positive impacts on the peace process.
This comes as the German Envoy for Afghanistan and Pakistan has also urged Pakistan to take actions against terrorists on its soil.
