MAIMANA (SW) – Police in Faryab province has arrested three men on charge of selling a 35-year-old woman.
Abdul Kareem Yourish, spokesman for police in the province, told Salam Watnadar the woman is resident of Jawzjan province. A variety or arms and ammunition have been confiscated form the men.
Meanwhile, a woman named Fatema in Baghlan province has been staging protest against a local armed commander, Wali Sifar, in the Farang district, for the past ten days. She said the armed commander has torched her home twice, and two of her sons have fled their home due to the fear of this commander.
However, the local commander has claimed the complainant’s sons were causing troubles for others, and someone else has torched their home. He claims to be a member of the pro-government local uprising force against the rebels in the area.
Ahmad Jawed Basharat, spokesman for the police, has claimed the sons of Fatema and the commander Wali Safar are all outlaws, and police is after all of them. Sources approve of Safar’s collaboration with the government.
