Three ANCOP men killed by the Taliban in Kunduz

05/07/2017

KUNDUZ CITY (SW): The Taliban militants have taken down three members of the Afghan National Civil Order Police (ANCOP) from a passenger bus and shot them dead in Kunduz province, a source informed on Wednesday.

The well-placed source informed that the militants killed these security personnel in the Ali Abad district last night around 9:00 pm. It is said the ANCOP men were wearing civilian clothes when they were identified and killed by the militants.

Abdul Rasheed Basheer, Commander of the ANCOP’s 8th Brigade in the North East, has confirmed that the Taliban have shot dead three people on the Kabul-Kunduz Highway, but said it was not clear if those killed by the militants were civilians or security personnel.

For the past three days, the Taliban have erected self-styled check posts in the Madrasa area of the Ali Abad district where they search vehicles.
