KABUL (SW) – Najib Danish, spokesman for the Ministry of Interior, told journalist in Kabul on Saturday the threats of the fall of Ghazni province are over now.
The MoI spokesman said clearance operation is underway with fresh supplies and security forces reaching Ghazni via Muqar district of the province and Syed Abad district of neighboring Maidan Wardak province. He said the clearance operation is slow because the rebels are hiding in homes of civilians.
Najib Danish further said up to 150 rebels have been killed and wounded while 26 members of the security forces either got killed or got wounded in these clashes.
The MoI spokesman confirmed private property, telecommunication towers and broadcasting towers also got damaged in the fighting in Ghazni.
