KABUL (SW) – Officials at the Ministry of Education has vowed to create 24,000 new posts of teachers to lift the standard of education in the country.
Mirwais Balkhi, minister for the MoE, said this during a ceremony to mark the Teachers’ Day here on Saturday. The minister said job announcements for these posts would be announced soon that would be followed by entrance test this year.
He added programs would be developed for the skill development and capacity building for teachers in collaboration with the Ministry of Higher Education. Balkhi said a fund would be set-up to provide soft loans to teachers across the country, township would be developed for them and their salaries would be increased.
Three months ago, the MoE took job tests from thousands of teachers in Kabul, and appointed up to eight thousand teachers.
