KABUL (SW) – Abdullah Abdullah, chief executive officer of the National Unity Government, said on Monday there are no obstacles that might hinder the forthcoming elections.
He said this addressing the cabinet session. Abdullah said the defence and security officials should perform their duties to ensure timely elections. Abdullah added the government is committed to hold inclusive and fair elections.
This comes as politicians dropped from the list of the candidates for the forthcoming parliamentary elections lock-down offices of the electoral commissions in eight provinces of the country. The government has vowed to reopen these offices at the earliest.
The CEO stressed today there would be no delay in the long-due polls.
