KABUL (SW): The rocket attacks on Kabul airport ended after the 3 attackers were killed on Wednesday, stated the Ministry of Interior officials.
Najib Danish, the acting spokesman for the Ministry of Interior (MoI), told Salam Watandar that a rocket hit a residential house in Paktia Kot area of Police District (PD) 9 of the city killing 1 woman and injuring 11 others. According to him all the causalities of the attacks are civilians.
He added that the attackers targeted the airport and government facilities from a residential house near the airport.
“After the operation, all attackers were killed and the area is under control now”, informed Danish.
Zabiullah Mujahid, the Taliban spokesman, in a statement to media claimed that the ‘attacked was targeted to hit the aircraft carrying U.S. Defense Sectary, James Mattis’.
The Daesh group has also claimed responsibility for the attack.
The attack occurred on Wednesday before noon on the Kabul airport which lasted for hours.
