KUNDUZ (SW): It has been more than two years since the Goltapa, Aqtash, and Kulbad districts were incorporated, however, these districts are still under the control of Taliban.

A number of residents in these districts told Salam Watandar that the ‘local offices’ for these districts have been operating in the center of the province in Kunduz city due to insecurity in these districts; therefore, they have always been facing problems and haven't received any help from the government.

Juma Din and Hashmat, two residents of the newly-incorporated districts told Salam Watandar that previously if they had an issue they were coming to the Khan Abad district and solve it; such as taking a signature of an official on documents, etc, however, now they have to come all the way to the center of the province in Kunduz city.

The local government has repeatedly promised to clear these districts from the Taliban; however, there is no progress as of now, said Juma Din and Hashmat.

Azizullah, mayor of Aqtash district, said it has been three years that these districts have been incorporated, however; the government has not done anything yet to recapture these districts from Taliban.

Meanwhile, Nematullah Timuri, the spokesperson for the governor of Kunduz said that the government will soon launch an operation in these districts to recapture these districts back from Taliban.

President Ashraf Ghani issued a decree for the formation of Aqtash, Kulbad, and Gul Tapa districts in 2015 to help solve the problems of the inhabitants of the area, however, so far, the problems have not been resolved yet it has increased.
