The Communal Justice Movements proving effective

SHEBERGHAN (SW): The rages of war have left deep scares on the face of Faiz Abad district in Jawzjan province where locals are now busy in construction of a school.

It takes up to two hours from the provincial capital, Sheberghan, to reach the war-ravaged Faiz Abad district. The demolished walls of the district administration compound and other broken walls narrate the tale of fighting and destruction.

Upon arrival, Salam Watandar reporter spotted men busy constructing a school in a part of the district.

One such man, 25-year-old Fida Mohammad, informed the locals’ Communal Justice Movement succeeded in paving ground for this school. He hailed this movement in striving to remove obstacles and promoting education in the community.

After a brief chat with Fida Mohammad, the scribe entered the compound of the newly constructed school where many girls were sitting in their classroom eager to receive fresh lessons.

18-year-old Farkhunda, a female student wearing blue veil, said she is happy to study in a proper school without any fear of rains, scorching Sunshine or other impediments. She urged the government to help provide remaining resources including chairs, tables etc. to the school.

Nasima Said, another student, welcomed the Communal Justice Movement’s endeavors in promoting education and striving for social development in the area.

Sharifa Sangar, head of the domestic development and capacity building organization, said in this regard that the Communal Justice Movement has proved handy, but there is much more to be done on the social front.

The Communal Justice Movements are particularly dubbed effective in the traditional Afghan society in terms of highlighting the peoples’ problems and pushing the government to address them.
