TAKHAR (SW): Takhar Provincial Court of Appeals issued an arrest warrant in Chahab district of Takhar for Bashir Qanet, a former commander of Hezb-e Islami led by Gulbadin Hekmatyar.
In a letter numbered “1008/1361” issued by part of “investigation of general crimes” of this court on Monday 30 October 2017 (8 aqrab 1396) which was sent to the police department of Takhar names of Bashir Qanet one of the former Hezb-e Islami commander in Chahab district, and team leader Ghulam Hussain son of Shir Ali, Mullah son of Shaikhul Islam, and other individuals who were part of the investigation for the murder case, injuring people, insult to sacred places, and attack against public service were included in the arrest warrant and the court ordered the police to immediately discover, identification, capture, and take into custody the above mentioned individuals and bring them in front of the court.
The arrest warrant of these individuals were issued based on the charges of murder of a man named Nazrullah on 18th of Sunbula (August) and attack of Bashir Qanet’s people on Darul Ulum Mosque of Chahab district to kill Mahfuzullah the imam of this mosque on 20 Sunbulla (August) of this year.
In the letter is it is mentioned that although, due to the interfere of the locals, the people of Bashir Qanet were not able to kill Mahfuzullah, but on the attack of Bashir Qanet’s people on the Darul Ulum mosque, 3 local residents were killed and 29 others were injured.
However, Sayed Jahangir Kiramat, chief of Takhar Provincial Police, in response to the arrest of Bashir Qanet and his people told Salam Watanadr, that “this powerful local commander has 1000 irresponsible militia and police have no capability to detain him”.
Still, in the case related to Mr. Qanet, Satar Bai father of Hasibullah the young man who was killed yesterday as a result of firing of rockets (RPGs) by irresponsible people in Chahab district said that he prepared the grave for his son, but people of Bashir Qanet did not give him permission for the funeral.
We tried to have Bashir Qanet’s view points on these allegations but did not succeed despite of several calls.
