KABUL (SW): The terrorist attack in the capital Kabul claimed by the pro-Daesh militants has claimed up to 41 lives, leaving many more, mostly civilians, wounded.
Shah Hussain Murtazawi, deputy spokesman for the President, has said such terrorist attacks cannot undermine inter-faith harmony in the country. “Any terrorist attack that might have whatever objectives would fail due to the national unity and inter-faith harmony”, he said, adding citizens from all walks of life have always united to thwart the objectives of the terrorists.
Waheed Majroh, spokesman for the Ministry of Public Health (MoPH), has confirmed the death toll. “As per the statistics that we have, 41 people got killed out of which 35 are men, 4 women and 2 children while 84 people are wounded”.
Najib Danish, deputy spokesman for the Ministry of Interior, has said those found guilty of negligence in duty would be held accountable. “The Ministry of Interior has formulated a team that would probe the incident, and any policemen found guilty of negligence of duty would be held accountable”.
The attack on a building housing Afghan Voice Agency news service and Tabyan cultural center in the Dasht-e-Barchi neighborhood has been claimed by Daesh. Eye witnesses said the death toll can be as high as 80.
