KABUL (SW) – Abdullah Abdullah on Friday claimed reaching 'tentative' agreement to end lingering electoral crisis.
In a series of tweets, he said efforts by 'respected national personalities' to resolve the political crisis have borne fruit.
"We have made progress in negotiations & reached tentative agreement on a range of principles. Work on details is underway to finalize the agreement", he said.
Meanwhile, Mohammad Sarwar Danesh, the second vice president, said in a video interview with the UN special envoy to Afghanistan, that political differences between President Mohammad Ashraf Ghani and Abdullah Abdullah have ended and that in the next few days, Abdullah would lead the high peace council.
Political disputes between Ghani and Abdullah began last year after the announcement of the results of the sixth presidential election.
It is worth mentioning that Salam Watandar received a copy of Abdullah Abdullah's plan to reach a political agreement with President Mohammad Ashraf Ghani. A source close to Abdullah Abdullah confirmed to Salam Watandar that the plan is final. Under the plan, central and provincial administrations will be divided equally between Abdullah Abdullah and President Mohammad Ashraf Ghani.
