KABUL(SW): Electoral Complaints Commission officials said five of the dismissed members of the commission, with the support of some members of the Electoral Complaints Commission and foreign groups, enter into the commission office with guns.
Independent Election Complaints Commission’s chief, Abdul Aziz Aryayi, said at a news conference today in Kabul that trickery at the time; rebellion against the presidential decree, procrastination and negligence on duty, and administrative offenses are the reasons for the dismissal of five members of the Electoral Complaints Commission. But they continue to work with force.
Electoral Complaints Commission’s chief considered the resignation of the commission’s members to be sabotage in the electoral process, saying that they have been dismissed on the basis of the election law.
However, Humaira Haqmal, a member of the Electoral Complaints Commission, at a separate news conference said, dismissal of the five members of this commission was against the law.
According to Ms. Haqmal, the firing of these five members of Electoral Complaints Commission are political, biased and misuse of the authority.
The Electoral Complaints Commission said he has sent the files of the five dismissed members to the President and Attorney General’s Office in order to make a decisive decision.
Technical deputy of IECC head secretariat, head of analysis and evaluation department, head of human resources department, head of documents and relations department, and the attendance manager are among the dismissed members of the Electoral Complaints Commission.
