HERAT(SW): Dozens of protestors in a rally in Herat said that the teachers and principle of Sayyid Mohammad Qanad High School in Haji Abbas area of Herat city are “morally corrupt” and that they demanded sexual relationship from students in exchange for marks in the exams.
The sale of drugs and the distribution and sale of vulgar movies by teachers in classrooms were the other complaints of protesters.
Abdul Wahid Haidary, a member of the Sayyid Mohammad Qanad Development Council accused the head of the Directorate of Education of Herat for negligence, and said “despite of repeated reports of sexual harassment on the side of the principle and teachers of this school to the head of Directorate of Education, their complaints have not been investigated by the Directorate”.
Abdul Rezaq Ahmadi, the head of Directorate of Education of Herat, spoke to the protesters and assured the parents of students that they would deal seriously with the corruptors.
We have repeatedly tried to reach out to the principle and teachers of the school to include their views and opinions in this report, but have not succeeded.
In this school approximately 3000 boys and girls are receiving education.
