KABUL (SW) – The fifth round of talks between the Taliban and the U.S. in Qatar entered 15th day on Tuesday.
Though, there are no official details into these talks, but sources close to the Taliban told Salam Watandar discussions are underway on the nitty-gritty of the peace process as both sides want to avoid any ambiguities. The source said an agreement has been reached over eventual withdrawal of foreign troops and not allowing Afghanistan to turn into den for terrorists.
The source confirmed the two sides did discuss the Bilateral Strategic Agreement and the ceasefire as well.
It is said talks continued till late night on Monday, and a top Qatari official was also seen on the venue of these talks in the capital Doha.
A number of journalists covering the talks in Doha have said the two sides are likely to conclude the talks today, and resume later in the future. They also reported no major development is reached between the two sides as of yet.
This comes as President Mohammad Ashraf Ghani and CEO Abdullah Abdullah have expressed concerns over ambiguities surrounding these talks.
