JALALABAD (SW) – The Taliban’s shadow governor for Pacheragam district in Nangarhar province has been killed with a number of his fighters, officials claimed on Monday.
Credible sources informed Salam Watandar an operation was conducted by the NDS forces in the Khogi area of the Khogyani district.
Attaullah Khogyani, spokesman for the provincial governor, told Salam Watandar 13 militants, including the shadow district governor, Mullah Mehmood, got killed in this operation. He added large cache of arms and ammunition has been seized from the rebels.
A statement issued by the NDS has noted that Mullah Mehmood, Qomandan Kamran, Qomandar Laghmani, Haqyar Kochi, Syed Wali, Sajid Logari, Qomandan Ghashi and Khanjari are among those rebels killed in this operation. It added the security forces sustained no losses.
Meanwhile, Zabihullah Mujahed, the Taliban spokesman, has rejected these claims by the security forces. He claimed only three Taliban got killed and two more got wounded while 11 security forces got killed.
