KABUL (SW) – Vice President Abdul Rasheed Dostum has stressed the Taliban’s so-called ‘Emirate’ is unacceptable, and revenge should be taken from them for the blood of fellow countrymen.
The first VP said this in a meeting with Chief Executive Abdullah Abdullah. He said the insurgents are under siege in the northern provinces, and countries such as Pakistan, the U.S. and the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia should be shown that the Taliban can be crushed.
He said peace cannot be achieved by begging for it, and all pledges made in this connection at different meetings are false. Dostum added some presidential candidates are secretly engaged in electoral campaigns, but he vowed open support for an electoral team.
In this meeting, Abdullah stressed the forthcoming presidential polls should be held fairly and freely. The CE said he is visiting northern province not for electoral campaign, but to assess security situation. He said Afghans do not want further crisis, and want accountability for their each and every vote. He urged fellow countrymen to stand united against those posing threat to their destiny.
