GARDEZ (SW): An armed assault on security forces transporting a notorious Taliban commander in Pakitia province has killed six people.
According to the local officials, the incident took place in the Ahmad Khail district of the province. Abdullah Hasrat, spokesman for the provincial governor, informed the notorious commander, two civilians, one policeman and two attacking Taliban rebels got killed in the clashes.
Hasrat added the security officials were transporting the under custody Taliban commander from Aryub Zazai district to the provincial capital Gardez via Ahmad Khail. He added the district officials in Aryub Zazai did not inform officials in the neighboring district about the transportation of the prisoner in a private vehicle.
