Taliban torch girls’ school in Herat

HERAT CITY (SW): The Taliban have torched a public school for girls in Herat province, officials said on Monday.

The school burned down is located in the Marway village of the Pashtoon Zarghoon district. Jailani Farhad, spokesman for the provincial governor, informed that all class rooms and books have been burned. He added investigations have been launched to capture the perpetrators.

Sher Ahmad Hanifi, member of the Directorate of Education monitoring committee, said in this regard that up to 600 girls were enrolled in this school.

The Taliban have not commented on the incident so far.
