FARAH CITY (SW): A narcotics processing facility in Farah province has been targeted by the U.S. forces in an aerial raid in which at least eight Taliban militants have also been killed.
Iqbal Baher, spokesman for the provincial police headquarters, told Salam Watandar that the narcotics factory was targeted in the Bakwa district. He added the Afghan and allied forces have also conducted ground raids in the Khak-e-Safaid district. Baher said three military compounds and one medical facility of the Taliban have been destroyed in these raids while ten suspects have been taken into custody.
In this counter-terrorism drive, eight Taliban militants have been killed in the Pusht Rod district while a number of landmines have been cleared.
Officials in Farah informed clearance operations are underway in Farah. The Taliban have not commented on it so far.
