BADGHES (SW): The Taliban have attacked a voter registration center in Badghes killing six soldiers.
Abdul Aziz Baik, chairman of the provincial council, informed the voter registration center was targeted in the Qala-e-Nau area in the provincial capital. He added three people got wounded in this attack.
Deputy governor, Faiz Mohammad Mirzada, has also confirmed the incident.
According to the headquarters of the Afghan National Police (ANP) in the area the attack was launched at around 11:00pm and continued till 01:40 in the morning.
Separately, the PC chairman informed at least eight members of the Afghan Local Police (ALP) got killed in a friendly air raid in the Sang-e-Zard area in the provincial capital.
Commander of the 606-Ansaar Zone, Juma Khan Adeel, has also confirmed the incident. He informed Salam Watandar the ALP men were marching towards the security check post in civil dress, and were hit by the Afghan Air Force by ‘mistake’.
