TAKHAR (SW): The construction of a residential town “Shahrak Omari” has been started in Shor-e Arab area of Darqad district of Takhar for several months, though, Taliban have now started using the market here.
Some residents of Darqad district who didn’t want to be named told Salam Watandar, that the Taliban have opened the Shor-e Arab market in this district and have forced locals to do business there.
Khalil Asir, the spokesperson for Takhar Police, said that a few days ago the Taliban have opened this market officially.
According to the spokesperson for Takhar Police, the locals in the Shor-e Arab market have been controlled by Taliban and currently, there are 20 businesses running in the market.
According to the local residents, the Taliban have ordered 600 shops to be constructed and have been forcing the locals to lease shops in this market.
The Taliban spokesperson, Zabiullah Mujahid said the Shor-e Arab market in the Darqad district in Takhar has been built on the basis of the needs of the local residents and is expected to expand further.
