TALUQAN (SW) – A member of the provincial council in Takhar claimed the Taliban have mutilated bodies of eight policemen after killing them in Khwaja Ghar district.
Mohammad Azam Afzali, member of the provincial council, informed Salam Watandar the incident took place in the Kandahari village of the district. He said one of the policemen in a check post collaborated with the Taliban in this incident.
The Taliban have not commented on this. The rebels have control over most parts of the district, except the district center.
Khalil Aseer, spokesman for the police in the province, claimed plans are in sight to launch clean-up operation against the Taliban.
Hundreds of families have fled their homes following the growing clout of the Taliban in Dasht –e-Qala and Khwaja Ghar districts of the province.
