Taliban loot security convoy in Baghlan

PUL-I-KHUMRI (SW): The Taliban militants in Baghlan province have attacked and looted security convoy carrying arms and ammunition for the Afghan National Police (ANLP) in restive Kunduz province.

According to the local sources, the rebels attacked these convoys in the Jungle Bagh area of the province. The Taliban have taken away the supplies before burning down the security forces’ vehicles transporting these supplies to the ANP in Kudnuz.

This comes at a time when Taj Muhammad Jahid, the Minister for Interior is visiting the area to assess situation. While acknowledging attack on supply convoy, he pointed that the insurgents have taken away with them security uniforms that were burning due to the clashes.

In the meantime, local security official in the province have stated that Afghan National Security and Defense Forces (ANSDF) have reclaimed a number of check posts that were captured by the Taliban earlier in Jar-i-Khushk and Sarak-i-Doazda areas in the central parts of the province.

Meanwhile, Amirgul Hassankhail, the security chief in the province, has said that the security forces have full control over the highway connecting Baghlan with the restive Kunduz province.
