KABUL (SW): Taliban have released a statement announcing the launch of their spring offensives called” Omari Offensives”.
Based on the statement, the militants will start their spring offensives on April 12, 2016.
Taliban leadership has called on its forces in the statement to not inflict any casualties on the citizens and government’s properties.
According to the UNAMAs’ recent reports, Taliban are responsible for 62 percent of civilians’ casualties.
Shah Hussain Murtazawi, Deputy Spokesman for the President, said that it is the security forces who have the initiatives in the battlefield and that the citizens should be unperturbed to such statements.
He warned the militants that if they didn’t join the peace talks, they would be suppressed.
Taliban spring offensives come at a time that they have intensified their activities over the past two months.
In the recent suicide attack in Surkhroad district in Nangarhar, 13 people were killed and 38 more were injured.
