KABUL(SW): Taliban set a school on fire and lashed 70 men in Danestama village in Tala-o-Barfak district in Baghlan province on Monday.
It is said that the men were all Shiite. Arbab Besmillah, a tribal elder in the village, told Salamwatandar that the men were lashed based on the order of Mullah Nasrullah, local Taliban commander.
Faiz Mohammad Amiri, district chief in Tala-o-Barfak, confirmed the news and related the incident to the certain groups who tried to stir sectarian differences in the district.
He said that the problem has been solved through tribal elders’ mediation.
Few days back, unknown men set 9 mosques ablaze in Dand-e-Ghori in Baghlan and the Taliban accused a man who was suffering from a mental disorder for the incident and shot him dead.
