PUL-E-KHUMRI (SW) – The Taliban insurgents have killed Takhar province's Warsuj district police chief, Mohammad Afzal Hakimi, along with his three guards.
According to the governor of Jaldi district in Baghlan, Fazaluddin Muradi, the incident took place here this morning in the Palfi Kotal area when the police chief was on his way to Takhar province. He said the Taliban took away all arms and ammunitions of the slain police chief with them, and torched his vehicle.
Hakimi, also known as Baba Afzal, was considered as key security officer in Baghlan province, and was recently transferred to Takhar.
The Taliban have taken responsibility for the attack.
