FARAH CITY (SW) – The Taliban killed two people and mutilated fingers of two others in Farah province on the charge of casting their votes for the Wolesi Jirga (lower house) elections.
Fareed Bakhtawar, chairman for the provincial council, told Salam Watandar the incident took place in Bala Bulook district. He added the rebels abducted 70 people from the district, 50 of whom have been released while the rest remain in their captivity.
According to reports, the Taliban also mutilated a finger of a Helmand resident for casting his vote in the WJ elections.
Umar Zwak, spokesman for the provincial governor, told SW the Taliban mutilated the finger of a resident of the Greshk district on the main Kandahar – Helmand highway.
