FAIZABAD (SW) – At least five members of a family have been killed when Taliban insurgents opened fire at a vehicle in Badakhshan province, sources said on Thursday.
The incident took place at around 4:00 am in Dream district. Badakhshan police spokesman Sanaullah Rouhani said two children were among the dead and another was wounded in the shooting.
According to him, the incident took place when a resident of Patawak village in Dream district was taking his children to school and they were targeted by the Taliban in the middle of the road.
The Taliban have not yet commented.
