FARAH CITY- PUL-I-ALAM (SW): The Taliban killed 4 police officers in an ambush in Farah province, on Friday.
Mohammad Naser Mehri, the provincial governor’s spokesman, told Salam Watandar that the Taliban killed 4 police officers on route from Balabulak district to the center of the province in the Kinisk area of the district on Friday. “2 of the officers were highway police for Khak-i-Safid district and the duty station of the 2 others, is still not known”, informed Mehri.
The Taliban insurgents have confirmed the killings of the 4 policemen to the media.
Meanwhile, an Afghan Local Police (ALP) has killed 5 of his comrades in Logar province.
Salim Saleh, the provincial governor’s spokesman, talking to Salam Watandar said that an ALP policeman in an outpost in Mohammad Agha district of Logar province first poisoned his 5 comrades and then shot them dead, late on Friday evening. According to him, the ALP officer was a Taliban infiltrator and has fled the scene of the killing.
But, the Taliban insurgents claimed that the Taliban group attacked an outpost in Mohammad Agha district killing the ALP men and took their equipment.
