PUL-I-KHUMRI (SW) – At least 26 members of the local uprising force got killed as the Taliban stormed their check posts in the Nahreen district of Baghlan province.
According to the local sources, the Taliban initially stormed the check posts in Nehreen district, and when the additional troops were on the way to repulse the attack, the insurgents ambushed their convoy in the Kohgaday area.
Among those killed include two commanders of the uprising force, Salahuddin and Abdullah.
In the meantime, the provincial police chief, Niaz Mohammad Niazmand, said in this regard that additional troops have been sent to the area. He did not share confirmed details about the death toll.
According to the source, the residents in Kohgaday area have taken up arms and are defending themselves on their own.
