KUNDUZ (SW) – The Taliban killed at least 21 security forces in Kunduz and Badakhshan provinces, officials confirmed.
Spokesman for the governor of Kunduz province, Esmatullah Muradi said the insurgents attacked check posts in Chahar Dara and Imam Sahib districts late last evening. He confirmed that 14 security forces and 3 Taliban insurgents got killed in exchange of fire.
The Taliban took responsibility for the attacks in Kunduz.
In Badakhshan province, the Taliban and other foreign terrorist groups killed seven security forces in the Arghanj Khwa district, Naik Mohammed Nazari, the governor's spokesman said.
The Taliban on Sunday out-rightly rejected growing calls for cease-fire. The group's spokesman, Zabiullah Mujahed said in a series of tweets that implementation of the Doha agreement with the US and start of intra-Afghan negotiations are necessary towards deescalation and end of war. "If anyone seeks ceasefire before talks then such is illogical. War is raging precisely b/c we have yet to find an alternative", he said.
