HELMAND (SW) – At least ten soldiers were killed in a Taliban-claimed assault on their base in Helmand province, officials confirmed on Saturday.
The Army’s 215 – Maiwand Corps said in a statement there were a total of 18 soldiers in the base at the time of the bomb attack in Sangin district. It said 10 soldiers got martyred, four soldiers were wounded and four repelled the Taliban attack.
The Taliban took responsibility for the attack.
