KABUL (SW) – Chief Executive Abdullah Abdullah on Monday dubbed the Taliban as ‘’a mercenary group of hypocrites and terrorists” following the insurgents’ attack on a Ministry of Defense facility in Kabul.
In a statement, CE Abdullah vehemently condemned the attack. “The Taliban’s terrorist attack near the Football Federation today in Kabul showcases the group’s inherent criminal nature. We will not be deterred by such outrage to pursue & punish the miscreants. Well done to our heroic security forces for punishing them hard in recent months”, he tweeted.
He added the Taliban's attacks and plans have failed this summer, and because of this, they want to disrupt peace of our citizens by launching suicide attacks that are against Islam and humanity. Abdullah added the Taliban would only earn more hatred among the people with such terrorist attacks.
Earlier in the day, logistics directorate of the Ministry of Defense in the capital Kabul came under assault by the Taliban.
The Ministry of Public Health confirmed that one person got killed and more than 90 got injured in this attack. Among the injured include at least 50 children.
