MAIDAN SHAR (SW): Local authorities in Wardak province have said dozens of Taliban fighters have attacked security outposts in Jalriz district in the early hours on Wednesday.
Naqibullah Haidary, chief of Jalriz district, talking to Salam Watandar said the fight is still going on between the security forces and the Taliban insurgents. He assured that the reinforcement forces have arrived at the Jalriz district. “We have lost 2 policemen in today’s attack, while 5 Taliban insurgents are dead including a senior commander of the group named 'Toran'”, informed Haidary.
A security source on conditions of anonymity told Salam Watandar that the Taliban insurgents have closed-down Wardak-Kabul road for traffic.
Zabiullah Mujahid, the Taliban spokesman, has claimed that two security outposts have fallen to the Taliban.
