FARAH CITY (SW): Officials in south western Farah province have said that the Taliban have hung a local judge to death on Friday night.
Speaking to Salam Watandar, Muhammad Nasir Mihri, the spokesperson for the governor of Farah said that the Taliban kidnapped Shams- ur-Rahman, the magistrate at an appellate court, while he was travelling on the Herat-Farah highway. The spokesperson added that the Taliban first took the magistrate to Khak-e-Safid district where the militants’ shadow court ruled to hang him till death.
Mohammad Nasir Mihri said that the dead body of the judge has been taken to the public hospital in Farah. He said that police have registered case and have launched operation to nab the culprits.
This is the third incident of the sort. A day earlier, the insurgents abducted two staffers of the local security force in Posht-e-Koh district and were later sentenced to death by a Taliban shadow court in the Khak-e-Safid district.
