PUL-I-ALAM (SW): Officials at the provincial education department in eastern Logar province have said that the militants have forcefully closed two of their office in the province.
According to the reports, the education departments have been closed down in Baraki Barak and Charkh districts.
One of the officials who did not wish to be named in the report, told Salam Watandar that the Taliban wanted to have more shares in recruitment, monitoring and financial affairs at these offices, and when they were opposed they forcefully closed the offices.
Salim Salih, spokesman for the governor in the province, emphasized that the tribal elders have intervened and the problem has been resolved to some extent.
He added that the militants on Tuesday closed a school for girls in the capital city Pul-i-Alam.
Though, the militants have not commented on the incident but the residents said that the Taliban’s activities in the province have increased compared to the previous years.
There are 264 schools in the province where 140,000 students, including 30,000 girl students are studying.
