CHAGCHARAN (SW): Latest spate of clashes between pro-Daesh rebels and the Taliban have left at least 9 people dead in the central Ghor province.

Local officials in Ghor have informed of fighting between the pro-Daesh rebels and the Taliban insurgents in the province.

Abdul Hai Khatibi, spokesman for the governor in Ghor, told Salam Watandar that the fighting continued was on for almost a week in the Raghskan village in Ferozkoh and Chaharsada districts. He said the clashes ended last night.

The spokesman said that during the fighting, 4 pro-Daesh militants and 5 Taliban rebels have been killed while 10 more have been injured. He added that although the fighting has ended, but both sides are still alert for any eminent attack.

According to him, the fighting started after Ahmad Khan Marghabi, Mullah Shah Wali’s father, was killed by the Taliban. He further said that the fighting took place in the villages where security forces have no control, and local officials in cooperation with the tribal elders seek to convince people not to support the militants.

Taliban and pro-Daesh rebels have not commented on the incident so far.
