Taliban bans music in Baghlan

PUL-E-Khomri (SW):Taliban have warned residents in Dand-e-Ghori area in Baghlan province that if they did not play Taliban’s songs instead of music at their wedding parties, they would be severely punished.

Taliban Moral Commission, has banned music in Dand-e-Ghori and has stated that they would punish those who don't comply with the rule.

Khal Murad, one of the residents in Dand-e-Ghori, told SalamWatandar that surprisingly some residents have complied with the Taliban’s ban on music and supported it while most of the residents have been fed up by the back to back Fatwa the Taliban issue.

He said that the residents severely criticized the Taliban for banning music and called the restriction as ignorance.

It is said that currently in Dand-e-Ghori Taliban preaches are heard be it from a mosque or a wedding party encouraging people to fight against the government.

It is also said that the Taliban visit wedding parties or mourning ceremonies to preach among people.
