Taliban attacks leave 22 policemen killed in Farah

FARAH (SW): Dadullah Qaneh, a member of the Farah Provincial Council, told Salam Watandar that 22 security forces have been killed and 4 have been captured by Taliban in the last night’s group attacks of Taliban on three police checkpoints in the Bala Bluk district and Shamalgah area of Farah city.

According to Dadullah Qaneh, the Taliban raided first at the outpost of the Shamalgah in Farah city which after capturing the checkpoint killed 5 security forces and captured four others.

According to reports, the attack on two checkpoints in the district of Bala bluk occurred concurrently in which 17 other security forces have lost their lives battling the Taliban.

The Taliban took all of their weapons and equipment after capturing these three checkpoints, setting fire to a Humvee tank and killing the security forces, Dadullah Qaneh added.

Naser Mehri, the spokesperson for the governor of Farah, confirmed the Taliban attack, however, he informed that only 8 security forces have been killed, though 15 Taliban have been killed in this attack by the Afghan security forces.
