LASHKARGAH (SW): A breakaway faction of the Taliban have been hit by a suicide car bombing in Helmand province on Wednesday, an official said.
According to Umer Zwak, spokesman for the provincial governor, men associated with the breakaway Taliban faction of Mullah Rasul have been targeted by the main faction led by Mullah Hibatullah. He said three people have died and five more got wounded in this attack.
He said the incident took place in the Samenar area of Grishk district which is under the influence of Mullah Rasul. Abdul Salam, spokesman for the provincial police headquarters, has confirmed the incident. As per his information, four men associated with the Taliban’s breakaway faction got killed and three more got wounded in this attack.
The Taliban, however, claimed they have targeted a convoy of the security forces. Qari Yousuf Ahmadi, a spokesman for the group, has claimed in a message that up to 26 people have died in their attack.
