PUL-E-KHUMRI (SW) – Well-placed sources told Salam Watandar the Taliban insurgents staged coordinated attacks on Pul-e-Khumri city from two directions last night.
According to the sources, the Taliban attacked the city at the Pul-e-Karkar and Drwaza Shamruq areas, and clashes with the security forces continued.
According to the head of public health directorate, at least one person got killed and seven others got injured in these clashes.
The Afghan National Defense and Security forces said in a joint statement that the Taliban attack has been repulsed, and at least 3 insurgents were killed, 2 captured and 5 others were injured.
The security forces did not suffer casualties in the attack, as per the statement
