
KANDAHAR (SW) – A suicide car bombing was followed by gunfight at the police headquarters in Kandahar on Thursday.
According to the local officials, the insurgents attacked the northern gate of the police headquarters. Initial reports suggest five people got killed and more than 40 others got wounded in this attack. A number of civilians are among the victims.
Meanwhile, Ahmad Baheer Ahmadi, spokesman for the provincial governor, said the clean-up operation after the attacks has concluded. He added the security forces are in search of the remaining attackers.
The Taliban spokesman Qari Yosuf Ahmadi has taken responsibility for the attack.
