Taliban attacked on Khaja Sabzposh district and Police Chief’s buildings in northern province Faryaab last night.
Local officials said that the security forces have thwarted Taliban’s offensive in the district.
Abdullah Masoomi, District Chief in Khaja Sabzposh, told SalamWatandar that Taliban started shooting rockets at district and police chief’s buildings last night where security forces showed resistance and foiled their attacks.
He said that the fighting between security forces and the militants lasted for half an hour as a result which the militants were forced to retreat.
The District Chief said that there was no casualties inflicted on the security forces but the windows of district and police chief’s buildings have been smashed.
He added that parts of the buildings have been damaged.
He further said that three militants were injured in the fighting.
Taliban confirmed the attack on district and Police Chief’s buildings but have not commented on their fighters who were injured.
