
HERAT CITY (SW): Jailani Farhad, governor of western Heart province has said that the Taliban have attacked a group of six foreign tourists in the province.
He told Salam Watandar that the incident took place on Thursday morning in Chesht district. He further said that the tourists were attacked by the militants when they arrived at the Chesht district.
“The tourists, a woman and six men who are British, American, German and Scottish nationals, have been wounded along with their Afghan driver when the militants ambushed their car. All of them are in a better condition now”, he said.
He discarded rumors about the death of the tourists.

Shir Agha Alokozay, police chief in Uba district in the province, who was supposed to take the tourists to the city, however told Salam Watandar that the security forces did ensure security of the tourists and rescued them from the militants. He added that the tourists would be shifted to Herat city soon. Alokozay further said that no casualties have been inflicted upon the security forces.
