FARAH CITY (SW): Locals and officials informed Salam Watandar the Taliban attacked Farah city again late on Wednesday.
Syed Mohammad, an eyewitness, said the Taliban staged a massive assault late on Wednesday, and inflicted casualties upon the security forces. He said a relative of his also got killed and another got wounded in this raid.
Jamila Amini, member of the provincial council, said in this regard the Taliban used civilians’ homes as shields, and targeted the police headquarters, main prison and a police station.
In conversation with Salam Watandar, Shayeq Jamal, head of the directorate of public health, said three wounded security personnel and one wounded civilian have been brought to the public hospital for treatment after latest spate of fighting.
Meanwhile, Abdul Basir Salangi, governor of Farah, told Salam Watandar the Taliban have not staged large attack, but attacked the security forces in isolated instances from inner streets of the city. He added the security forces have launched search operation in the city to ensure peace and security.
