Taliban and Daesh take 150 families as hostages in Sar-i-Pul

SAR-I-PUL (SW): Local authorities in Sar-i-Pul province have said that Taliban and Daesh rebels have taken more than 150 families as hostages on Monday.

According to the local authorities, the Taliban and Daesh insurgents have taken the families as hostages in Mirza Awlang area of Sayad district and the rebels have killed one hostage as of yet.

Zabiullah Amani, the spokesman for the provincial governor, said these 150 families are under the blade and bullet of these groups, and they are likely to kill the people one after another any moment.

The spokesman criticizing the central government said 3 days have passed since the fall of Mirza Awlang village to the Taliban and so far the government has not taken steps to retake the village from Taliban and Daesh to save the lives of the people. “If the government does not save the families soon, it will be recorded in the dark history of the country which will not be forgotten by any Afghan”, warned Amani.

The spokesman also informed that the insurgent groups have given the 50 dead bodies to the families who were shot dead by the insurgents on Sunday.

Daesh has not commented on the civilian killings, and Qari Yousif, the spokesman for the Taliban, also rejecting the killings of civilians in Mirza Awlang village of Sayad district said that the group does not harm civilians. He added that during the fighting, the people’s uprising fighters sustained heavy causalities.
