ASADABAD (SW) – Deadly clashes are underway between the pro-Daesh militants and the Taliban rebels in a number of districts in Kunar.
A number of families displaced by the rages of war have gathered in front of the provincial administration in the capital Asadabad. Two members of such displaced families told Salam Watandar more than two hundred families got displaced in the Chapa Dara district alone.
Meanwhile, Abdul Satar Mirzakwal, provincial governor, has said the clashes have claimed the lives of 25 pro-Daesh militants and 4 Taliban rebels. He acknowledged the clashes have displaced many families in a number of districts. He stressed the rebel groups are fighting for turf, and the government would soon launch clean-up offensives in the restive parts of the province.
According to the officials, the pro-Daesh militants are active in Nur Gul, Sokai, Wata Pur, Chapa Dara and Shegal districts.
